Midnight Sapphire

With a halo of round brilliant cut and two pear shape diamonds over the platinum band shoulders, this piece is glamourous whilst maintaining a sense of timeless style and class.

Blue sapphires attain their colour from traces of titanium and iron. The more traces of titanium there are, the more intense the blue, and consequently the higher the price the stone commands. The saturation of the blue is determined both by the number of titanium traces but more predominantly by the amount of iron in the corundum, the mineral that both sapphire and ruby belong to.
