An eye for detail, hard work ethics, honesty and a love for craftsmanship are traits that set Simon above many of his contemporaries in the luxury jewellery trade.
Simon first discovered jewellery and metalsmithing at Monash University Melbourne when looking to study Fine Art. Studying under the guidance of celebrated Australian jewellers and artists such as Mark Edgoose, Rhys James and Miyuki Nakahara developed Simon’s appreciation for jewellery as an art form, as well as instilling in him the fundamentals of design.
An apprenticeship in jewellery making soon followed, and over fifteen years experience in the jewellery industry in both Australia and the UK has given him solid technical skills along with the ability to relate to and understand his client’s needs.
Simon is a contributor to the annual Goldsmiths’ Craftsmanship & Design Awards, and for the past few years has been on the panel of judges for the CAD/CAM design section.
Contact Simon today to discuss your requirements. He is always happy to discuss making your engagement rings, wedding rings or bespoke jewellery.
Jenny is SWJ’s jewellery and workshop assistant, helping to produce bespoke wedding and engagement rings. She designs using CAD software and runs the 3D printers in the workshop.
Jenny has a BA (Hons) in 3D Design Craft from Havering College, but what really made her the ideal person to join, was her previous experience with Steven Copas – a well-respected & highly skilled diamond setter.
Hannah is the first point of contact for all of our customers as well as sharing some of the appointments with Simon. She also looks after the advertising, and making sure Simon and Jenny stay on track with design deadlines (she’s got to crack the whip sometimes!). Hannah studied Visual Communications: Illustration at Birmingham Institute of Art and Design, making her an ideal addition to our creative team.
